Jacbat, this is a question that is appropriate for our forums. I'm not aware of any known issues with custom titles disappearing, but if anyone else has experienced the same problem, you'll be able to find out in the forums.

The custom title tags I create with Thesis for each post on my site have been disappearing recently. A few days or months after I create a post with a custom title tag, I go back, check the post and the custom title tag field is blank. It’s gone missing. I know it used to be there because when I start to retype it into the blank field, auto complete shows it to me. Doesn’t happen to every post but plenty of them. What’s happening? How do I fix it?

If you don't use wordpress here is another tutorial that explains the PHP side of things really well. Does anyone know of a good tutorial that explains the MySql side of things a little better?

I agree, the title tag is probably the most important factor when it comes to SEO.

I’d say that including the keywords in the url, description and headlines is pretty important too.

Well, the optimising the titles is the easyest method to use long tail targeted keywords. By the way, the descriptions are too important. In the end, the most thing you must have in mind is RELEVANCE OF KEYWORDS.
