FWIW: I use midphase and have been super happy with the (low) cost and (high-quality) service. Though, my site is still an infant.

Just a little late, huh? :)

I figured they were new, so I was going to offer a link or spot on our blog roll, but when I looked ‘em up, they were a PR7, so they don’t need any help from us !

The only thing I don’t like is that they look better than us, rank better than us and …,er, never mind.

I currently use three peppers—Sparks!, User Agent 007, and XXX Strong Mint. Truth be told, though, I don’t actually get much useful information out of these.

I use Mint for two reasons:

1. To track the number of views on a particular page (for conversion tracking, etc)
2. To see in (somewhat) real time where my traffic is coming from. This let’s me know if I’m getting del.icio.us bookmarks, hot links from strong sites, or just general trends in my search traffic.

Before I purchased a Mint license, I was under the impression that it was some kind of world-beater statistics package. The reality of the situation falls woefully short of this ideal.

In my opinion, Mint provides a very nice supplement to a server-based stats package, but it is in no way adequate as a standalone piece. I do feel as though it’s an excellent facilitator, though, so take that for what it’s worth ($30). ;)

Inman does good work but I don’t know yet. Do you use any Pepper or other features?

I do like a few of the style elements in PressRow… I’ll have to see if I’m good enough to manipulate Cutline to get it the way I want! :)

Kid Disco — You’re my hero. Oh, if you want to hack up a theme, use Cutline—it’s a much better framework.

It’s what I used for the UberReview, but I had to manipulate the styles to look more like PressRow, simply because that’s what the client wanted.

Dennis — I have maintained a MediaTemple server since October of 2005, and although I like their customer service, I feel that their overall package pales in comparison to that of MidPhase.

One of my biggest beefs against MediaTemple is the fact that they do not offer a server-based stats package that I really like. Urchin is slow, has a Web-based interface, and does not provide enough data on one screen for my liking.

MidPhase, on the other hand, offers Webalizer, which is raw server data at its finest. I’m a stats junkie, so for me, there is no choice here—MidPhase is the only way to fly.

I could go on and on about how I prefer cPanel to MediaTemple’s proprietary control center, but I already know I’d be inviting a “to each, his own” argument. For me, working with MidPhase has been a great experience, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
