Semantic web elements seem to be more and more important since the panda and penguin algos came into existence. Google seems a bit shiftded from keyword based search to semantic search - which could be the main reason why so many websites dropped in rankings and traffic. It is easy to identify the over optimized content and seo elements by these algos mentioned. I use this semantic markup for several wp sites of mine - they are worth the trouble. Thanks!

I definitely think these factors are all too often overlooked. Whether it's inherent laziness or just forgetfulness could be a difference of a few spots in ranking. Thanks for the break down and post!
