Kathy, syntax highlighting was a feature that was offered by WordPress in versions prior to 3.0. Basically, WordPress elected to remove the highlighting because it did not work in all major browsers.

Also, because the syntax highlighting project was open-source and not for profit, the developer abandoned it; as a result, WordPress really had no choice but to adopt the project as their own or else abandon it. Of course, they chose the latter, so now I don’t have the ability to add a feature like this with ease.

At this time, I have no plans to develop a syntax highlighter of my own, so I would not expect to see it in future releases of Thesis for WordPress.

Hi Chris,

How soon will there be a fix for “Fatal error: Call to undefined function use_codepress() in /…/html/blog/wp-content/themes/thesis_17/lib/admin/admin.php on line 42″?

We’ve been given a work around here, but I’d like syntax highlighting back.

Please let me know when you think you might have a fix (update) in place.
