Hi
I like Scott MB above need to enable comments on the extra pages on my copyblogger site. Does anyone know how to do this? I’ve upgraded to the latest version of copyblogger but I still can’t enable comments. Is there a simple piece of code I can copy in?
I’d really appreciate some help with this.

Hey Chris,

I am implementing your theme for a friends site and have managed to successfully work through most of the modification issues, apart from one. Comments are disabled on all extra pages and I need to enable them. I tried just enabling comments in the WordPress page options but this has no effect, am I missing something simple?

The site is in test mode right now.

Any help would be appreciated, many thanks for your time. I honestly don’t know how you keep up with all these questions!

Jeff — Definition lists are fully supported within posts; comments are just a little different because their structures are marked up with definition lists.

Steve — In order to display tags, you'll need to add at least one WordPress tag function to your single.php template file. Theoretically, you can add tag functions to any template file you like; however, I strongly advise against using them on other types of pages due to the adverse effects that additional links have on overall link equity. Jeff — In the W3C specifications for lists, you'll find the following excerpt regarding the use of definition lists:

Another application of dl, for example, is for marking up dialogues, with each dt naming a speaker, and each dd containing his or her words.

Although the above quote hardly qualifies as a true "standard," it does make definition lists seem like an appropriate choice when you consider the nature of blog comments.

Chris – I’m fascinated by the fact you chose a definition list for the comments queue. I go 100% with that decision, I just wonder what YOU have in mind by it?

Re: RobbD3′s long-name point… try ‘overflow:hidden’ (cb distro, style.css, line 264).

Given what a layout wrecker this can be, it’s a point well made. I’d still want to slice any stupid long strings, or truncate if the text is inappropriate.
